I finally had some time today to do a bit of retro computer hackery. I had previously, unsuccessfully, tried to get the LC III running, but I only have VGA monitors, and none of my Mac -> VGA adapters worked. Luckily Apple still have a support article explaining how to make a Mac LC compatible adapter so this morning I put one together. I'm proud to say that my home made Mac LC VGA cable worked right first time!
"But why," I hear you ask, "is it showing an Apple //e boot screen, and not Mac OS 7?"
This LC is fitted with the Apple IIe card, which is a full hardware IIe implementation on a card. This lets me switch between Mac and IIe modes on the fly, sharing devices between the two.
I hope to have some time to play with it soon.
