Would you attend a New Zealand Vintage Computer Festival in Wellington in November

Primary tabs

This year is the 40th anniversary of the Kenback-1, arguably the world's foist personal computer, and the Intel 4004, arguably the world's first commercial microprocessor. With the 4004 turning 40 on 15th November, I am considering holding some type of celebratory event on the weekend of 11/12/13 November. The primary focus will be for enthusiasts to get together and share their machines, memories, and experience.

It's a bit of a hike for us in the Manawatu. If we had other events that were happening at a similar time we could probably be more likely to come to the event. I know people in Christchurch who might be interested but a lot would depend on how much it costs for tickets to the event.

Based on some feedback I've had it is more likely that we'll try to do something in 2012. Several people who would be instrumental in making such an event a success are fully committed for much of this year, and especially around November. Cost is a complete unknown, but we would try to keep it to a minimum.
